I’m an avid reader, yet I’m a really lousy book reviewer.
I recently read Susan Cain’s brilliant book, “Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking“, and, as a big time introvert, I was thrilled to learn that not only is there nothing wrong with me, but, that, as a society, we should organize our businesses around both introverts and extroverts, rather than trying to force everyone to be an extrovert.
I have been trying to write a review, with little success. Thankfully, Ms Cain gave a TedTalk, and her talk gives a good introduction to her book, so I can take the easy way out and share the video.

I must read this book. I’m an introvert and I sometimes get upset at the way the world (especially the workforce) is geared towards extroverts, so I feel as though I have to change my personality or be someone I am not. Thanks for the post!
I know what you mean. I’ve always felt that when I’m at work I am someone who’s not The Real Me. I have to put on this extroverted appearance in order to fit in and get ahead. I think the book is well worth reading, if only to discover that there are lots of others who have the same struggles.
Thanks for stopping by!
